Skate Somehow Has Microtransactions Before It Even Hits Early Access – Report

It appears that, according to reports, both EA and developer Full Circle have integrated microtransactions within the closed alpha testing phase of Skate. This implies that any transactions made during this time are likely to be converted into the game’s virtual currency. Since the game is reset before its early access launch, this progress will not carry over.

As reported by Insider Gaming, microtransactions have been introduced with the recent update for Skate. These transactions are known as San Van Bucks and are used to purchase cosmetic items within the sports game. EA and Full Circle are currently testing out a shop for Skate ahead of its early access launch this year.

This message seems to welcome testers for Skate, stating that during the closed alpha test phase, they’ve made it possible to buy and use a virtual currency (San Van Bucks). They are looking forward to receiving your valuable feedback as it helps to create an outstanding user experience at the early access launch.

The game “Skate” will not require payment to play, but it was mentioned earlier that some form of transactions would be included as part of the gaming experience. Approximately two years ago, Full Circle assured players that Skate wouldn’t incorporate pay-to-win mechanics or paid loot boxes. Instead, you can obtain in-game loot boxes by successfully executing impressive tricks.

Back in the early part of this year, console users were given the opportunity to enroll for the Skate beta test. This revival of Skate was initially unveiled during EA Play Live in 2020.
