Netflix unveiled the preview for “Sirens,” an upcoming limited series starring Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, and Milly Alcock.
Over Labor Day weekend, I find myself immersed in a captivating series centered around three fascinating women at a coastal mansion. As the character Devon, I’m wrestling with my sister Simone’s (Alcock) unhealthy infatuation towards her employer, Michaela Kell (Moore), a socialite with an intriguing aura. In an attempt to mediate their complicated relationship, I come to realize that Michaela, also known as Kiki, is no ordinary adversary; she’s a formidable force I hadn’t anticipated dealing with, as hinted in the official synopsis. The trailer hints at a mysterious cult-like organization that appears to have taken over Simone’s life under Kiki’s influence.
The ensemble additionally features Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton, Bill Camp, Josh Segarra, Felix Solis, Trevor Salter, Lauren Weedman, Britne Oldford, and Jenn Lyon.
Apart from the main actors, Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton, Bill Camp, Josh Segarra, Felix Solis, Trevor Salter, Lauren Weedman, Britne Oldford, and Jenn Lyon are also part of the cast.
Or in a more conversational tone:
And let’s not forget about Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton, Bill Camp, Josh Segarra, Felix Solis, Trevor Salter, Lauren Weedman, Britne Oldford, and Jenn Lyon who are also joining the cast.
The production of the series is credited to Molly Smith Metzler, known for her work on “Maid.” The executive producers include Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Dani Gorin, who are associated with LuckyChap Productions. Notably, this production company was also involved in the creation of “Maid.
The series ‘Sirens’ is an adaptation from the play ‘Elemeno Pea’, penned by Metzler. This project marks the first under his multi-year deal with Netflix, where he pledged to create stories that are socially aware and provide opportunities for women both on-screen and off-screen. Besides working on ‘Orange Is the New Black’ and ‘Shameless’, Metzler is also known for his commitment to gender equality in Hollywood.
Right from the start, working alongside the whole Netflix crew has been an open, imaginative, and incredibly encouraging experience for me, as I expressed upon announcing our overall agreement. I feel privileged to consider Netflix my workplace, and I’m thrilled about continuing this successful journey together!
The series hits Netflix May 22. Watch the trailer below.
