Following her standout act in the “House of the Dragon,” a prequel to “Game of Thrones,” Milly Alcock is set to don the Supergirl costume within the DC Universe. Amid these major roles, viewers can catch Alcock’s recent work in her new series, “Sirens,” which has garnered positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
At the moment, “Sirens” is garnering an impressive 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This accolade arrives as the series premieres on Netflix on May 22nd. Since the series is fresh, there aren’t enough audience reviews to determine a score on the Popcornmeter just yet. However, most critics who have watched the series have been praising it. While Toft Alcock leads the cast, other talented actors like Julianne Moore and Meghann Fahy are also part of the show. Nevertheless, some critics found the future Supergirl character to be particularly captivating.
In the series “Sirens”, it was critic Therese Lacson who noted that among the three leading actresses, Alcock emerged as an unexpected star. She praised Alcock for skillfully showcasing Simone’s expansive emotional range and hidden depths.
Moore appears in every scene like a spirit, while Alcock moves swiftly through each scene as if an agitated specter.” This maintains the original meaning and style while using slightly different wording to avoid repetition.
Critic Grant Hermanns remarked that while Netflix’s dramatic series, “Sirens“, can sometimes pique one’s interest with its narrative, it is the ensemble of actors who truly elevate the show and make it a delightful viewing experience.

As a fan, I’d like to share that this captivating series is my creation, Molly Smith Metzler, derived from her own play titled “Elemeno Pea.” The story unfolds over a weekend at an extravagant beach mansion, and it delves into the intriguing dynamic between my sister, Simone (Alcock), and her enigmatic boss, Michaela (Moore). As Devon (Fahy), I find myself compelled to act when their relationship starts to raise red flags. Notably, this series boasts some impressive talent, including Kevin Bacon from “Friday the 13th” and Glenn Howerton of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Milly Alcock Will Play the DCU’s Supergirl
In a notable shift from her recent stint in “House of the Dragon”, Alcock is now stepping into her first major role, followed by a big-screen appearance that fans are eagerly anticipating. She recently completed filming for an upcoming movie, titled unspecified, which takes place within the DC Universe alongside characters such as Superman, Peacemaker, and Creature Commandos. Craig Gillespie is directing this film, penned by Ana Nogueira. James Gunn, the producer, has already given a glimpse of Alcock in her role through set photos, but we haven’t seen a clear image of her donning the suit yet.
Sirens is streaming on Netflix.
