Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” has been invited in to Imax 70mm screens again.
Tickets are now available for the re-screening of the movie in nine selected Imax 70mm theaters across North America, running from May 15 to May 21. Warner Bros. has decided to re-release it due to a high level of audience and critical interest.
The movie “Sinners” has made the largest opening for an original film since 2019. By April 27, it had earned $122.5 million in North America and $161.6 million worldwide, all on a $90 million budget.
In terms of debuts for original films, “Sinners” has been the biggest since 2019. As of April 27, it had raked in $122.5 million in North America and $161.6 million globally, with a production budget of $90 million.
On its debut weekend, Imax accounted for a significant 20%, or one fifth, of the total revenue. However, starting this weekend, that screen space will be relinquished as Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” assumes control.
Based on audience feedback, we’ve taken note. The movie ‘Sinners’ is one that truly benefits from being seen in an immersive, larger-than-life format. As stated by Warner Bros. Pictures president of global distribution Jeff Goldstein, the filmmaker Ryan has created a piece that fans admire for its meticulous attention to detail in producing a film for this grand screen format. We want everyone to have the chance to experience it, or revisit it, in the 70mm Imax format.
The movie “Sinners” will be playing again in IMAX format at City Walk Stadium 19 + IMAX (Los Angeles), Irvine Spectrum IMAX (Irvine), Lincoln Square 13 + IMAX (New York), Metreon 16 + IMAX (San Francisco), Indiana State Museum IMAX (Indianapolis), Arizona Mills IMAX (Phoenix), Autonation IMAX (Ft. Lauderdale), Webb Chapel IMAX (Dallas) and Colossus IMAX (Toronto).

I’m thrilled to team up once more with a number of my “Black Panther” comrades on the other side of the camera: Autumn Durald Arkapaw, our talented director of photography; Hannah Beachler, the brilliant production designer who took home an Oscar for her work; Michael P. Shawver, our skilled editor; Ludwig Göransson, the Oscar-winning composer whose music enriched our previous collaboration; and Ruth E. Carter, another Oscar winner for her remarkable costume designs. Together, we’re ready to create something extraordinary!
