63-year-old Simon Fisher-Becker, a well-known British actor recognized for appearing in “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” and the television show “Doctor Who,” passed away on Sunday.
The actor’s husband shared on Facebook that Simon Fisher-Becker had tragically passed away without disclosing the cause or location of his death. In the post, he expressed his sorrow by saying: “I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon, Simon took his last breath… I’m unsure at the moment if I’ll be posting again. Thank you.
In various roles, Fisher-Becker made appearances. First, as the ghostly Fat Friar in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” Later, he portrayed Dorium Maldovar, a black marketeer who was indebted to the Eleventh Doctor, across three episodes of “Doctor Who.” Fisher-Becker also joined the cast of Tom Hooper’s “Les Misérables” for the song “Master of the House,” and acted alongside Joanna Scanlan in an episode of “Getting On.” Over sixteen episodes, he played Dante Harper on the crime show “Waterside.” His other credits include roles in BBC comedies like “Puppy Love” and dramas such as “Doctors.
