In collaboration since the successful release of the Silent Hill 2 remake in 2024, Bloober Team and Konami continue their partnership. Today, Bloober Team announced they have sealed a deal with Konami to develop a “new game using Konami’s intellectual property.” As of now, details on which IP this refers to remain undisclosed.
In a statement, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno stated that the acclaim of Silent Hill 2 is evident, and he went on to say that while they can’t disclose many specifics at present, they are optimistic that fans will share their enthusiasm for their collaboration as much as they do.
According to Babieno, we can expect the unveiling of Bloober Team’s new game when it feels appropriate.
It’s been verified as well that Konami serves as both the publisher and rights holder for the upcoming game, regardless of its specific nature. This alignment is logical since the game is derived from an intellectual property owned by Konami.
In just the initial three days of its release on PS5 and PC in October 2024, the Silent Hill 2 remake surpassed one million copies sold. A few months down the line, this figure had soared to over two million units.
Beyond their current project with Konami, Bloober Team is also working on the upcoming survival-horror game titled Cronos: The New Dawn. This game, scheduled for release this year, has its creator, Wojciech Piejko, expressing his intentions to move away from creating subpar games and demonstrate that the Silent Hill 2 remake was not an accidental success.
