Shroud slams “toxic” Battlefront 2 fans despite player count skyrocketing

Battlefront 2 fanbase for their toxic behavior when he attempted to rejoin the game after it saw a significant increase in players.

Whenever a game developer stops supporting one of their titles, I often find myself reluctantly moving on from it, as the lack of updates can make the experience less enjoyable. However, some dedicated fans and creative modders step up to keep the game alive by introducing fresh ideas of their own.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 ceased to receive developer support in the year 2020 after about three years, and for the most part, it has been relatively quiet since then. However, following the conclusion of the second season of Andor, a large number of players have returned to playing it.

The number of people playing this game has significantly increased, making it a popular choice among streamers on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. Yet, Shroud expresses hesitation towards it following a “toxic” experience in Battlefront 2.

Similar to numerous others, the previous Counter-Strike prodigy resumed playing Battlefront 2 towards the end of May; however, the experience wasn’t particularly favorable for him. Consequently, he decided to quickly remove the game from his system.

Shroud mentioned that he had trouble with Battlefront 2 multiplayer: as soon as he engaged in player versus player matches, he was quickly defeated. Frustrated by this experience, he uninstalled the game and likely won’t play it again. This issue, according to him, may be due to the servers being under attack.

It came as a surprise to me how negative and manipulative this group can be. It’s truly unfortunate to discover that someone is orchestrating things behind the scenes.

The popular Twitch personality mentioned that there were moments when he enjoyed himself, but unfortunately, he experienced unwanted attention because of being a streamer. Moreover, he expressed reluctance towards resorting to external server solutions, as it didn’t sit well with him.

Since the game lacks developer support, the modifications that Shroud desires won’t be implemented. However, Star Wars enthusiasts being as passionate as they are, Battlefront 2 will undoubtedly continue to thrive and experience a resurgence for some time.
