As a long-time fan of Shroud, I must say that his upcoming ‘Fragathon‘ Twitch event has touched my heart deeply. Having lost my own father to cancer not too long ago, I can only imagine the pain and sorrow he must have felt when he lost his dear dad last year.
However, it is truly inspiring to see how Shroud has channeled that pain into something positive and meaningful. The idea of using his gaming skills to raise money for charity in honor of his father is a testament to his strength and resilience. It’s clear that he wants to make a difference in the lives of others who are going through similar situations, which makes me admire him even more.
I am excited to tune in to his Twitch channel on January 4th to watch the event unfold. I can’t wait to see how the frag counter works and how the proceeds from subs, donations, and bits will be utilized for a good cause. And, let’s not forget about the LAN center he is building in his house! What a unique and personal touch to this event.
I also hope that Shroud’s friends and fellow streamers will join him for the event. It would be amazing to see them come together to support a cause that is close to Shroud’s heart.
Lastly, I can’t help but chuckle at the thought of Shroud inviting his friends to donate frags in person at his house. I wonder if he’ll have a scoreboard and trophies for the top scorers! It’s a great way to turn something as simple as gaming into a friendly competition that benefits a worthy cause.
Overall, I am looking forward to watching Shroud’s Fragathon event and supporting him in his mission to raise money for charity. Kudos to Shroud for turning tragedy into triumph and using his platform for good. May his father rest in peace, and may this event honor his memory in a meaningful way. #FragathonStrong
As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Shroud is hosting a ‘Fragathon’ Subathon on Twitch all through January, with the proceeds going to a worthy charity. This event is a heartfelt tribute to his father who bravely fought cancer and sadly passed away last year.
The Twitch star made the announcement on January 3, 2024, via his Twitter/X account:
You might’ve caught wind that I’m participating in a marathon-like event called a subathon, but this time it’s unique. Since last year when I lost my father to cancer, I’ve been seeking ways to aid those experiencing similar hardships. Consequently, we devised the Fragathon, an initiative aimed at offering support to such individuals.
Throughout the entire month of January, I’ll be streaming live with a frag counter. Each elimination on my stream will contribute one dollar to charity. Additionally, subscriptions and donations will boost this multiplier, meaning that each frag is worth even more than before!
As a long-time streamer who has seen both the highs and lows of this industry, I can attest to the fact that there are far too few platforms that genuinely give back to the community. That’s why I am thrilled to announce that in addition to my frag counter, 100% of proceeds from subscriptions, donations, and bits will be going directly to some truly amazing charities. This is more than just a business decision for me; it’s a chance for us as a community to make a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate. I encourage everyone who can to join me in this effort, and together we can create a brighter future for all.
Tomorrow.

Shroud mentioned: “I won’t be gaming solo anymore. I plan to host a gathering at my home LAN center, inviting all my friends for an in-person frag donation session. Additionally, there will be real-life events and challenges taking place when we’re not playing, contributing to the overall score.” It remains undisclosed which fellow creators and streamers will participate in this event with Shroud.
How to watch Shroud’s Fragathon stream
On January 4, 2024, don’t miss out on Shroud’s Fragathon event. The specific timing for the live stream is still undecided, but as per his recent announcement, it’s set to start tomorrow. So, keep an eye on his Twitch channel!
As the event gets closer, you can expect him to announce the starting time via his social media platforms such as Twitter or X. We’ll make sure to provide the details here and embed the live stream when they become available.
On his Twitch broadcast on New Year’s Day, Shroud mentioned that the Subathon, originally intended to begin sooner, had encountered some setbacks.
Originally, the intention was to kick off the marathon live-stream on the upcoming day marking the New Year; however, there have been some setbacks. The team is currently working on setting up everything, and the process seems to be temporarily paused until the necessary PCs arrive. Given this situation, it appears that he might as well stream without waiting for the full setup.
On August 12, 2023, Shroud honorably acknowledged the passing of his father due to lung cancer. Fans mourned and paid tribute in response.
