In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players may stumble upon various unpredictable scenarios, one of which could lead to an encounter with an elderly knight. Due to their random nature, you might need to traverse multiple “Roadside Camps” before running into Sir Kunesh of Bellowitz. The interaction offers several possibilities, but the player will be tasked with either challenging Sir Kunesh to a duel or choosing to avoid conflict altogether.
The interaction can take place at any “Roadside Camp” location and at any moment during your journey in “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2“. You’ll recognize this encounter when you see two men engaged in a fight. One is dressed in a full armor set, while the other appears to be a peasant. Both men will call out to Henry, inviting him to join them or assuring him that everything is under control since they know their fight looks intense. If you engage the knight in conversation at this point, you’ll have several options for shaping the discussion and eventually decide whether to challenge Sir Kunesh of Bellowitz to a duel.
What Happens If You Challenge Sir Kunesh of Bellowitz To A Duel
After conversing with Sir Kunesh, players will discern two options that influence the amount of reputation they may lose with him. During their dialogue, players discover that Kunesh previously supported Jobst instead of King Sigismund in a conflict. Unfortunately for Kunesh, this decision did not turn out well as Jobst was defeated in battle. He was then captured and confined to a tower for several years.
In a less than enjoyable situation for him, Sir Kunesh maintains a pragmatic perspective on warfare. He came to understand that aligning himself with King Sigismund would have been the wise choice, given Sigismund’s exceptional rule. As you may recall, Henry is backing King Wenceslas, not King Sigismund. Consequently, some of Sir Kunesh’s statements contradict his personal convictions.
According to Sir Kunesh, King Wenceslas is considered a poor ruler because he seems to spend most of his time partying instead of addressing the needs of his people who are starving and suffering. In contrast, Sir Kunesh believes that under King Sigismund’s rule, things might have been different since Sigismund appears to be more actively involved in governing. At the very least, it’s unlikely that Sigismund would spend all his time enjoying himself at parties like Wenceslas does.
Based on Henry’s response, there’s a chance that his reputation could suffer a setback twice. The first instance of potential reputation loss occurs when players claim “Sigismund is Pillaging the Realm“. Sir Kunesh finds this activity distasteful, yet he understands it’s a common aspect of war. However, since Henry has spoken out against Sigismund, Kunesh may start to view him less favorably.
The moment Henry shows support for Wenceslas, players will suffer a drop in reputation that cannot be prevented, as understood by Kunesh. After Kunesh expresses his feelings, players have the options to engage in a duel with him or choose to leave the situation.
If opponents dare to issue a challenge to Kunesh, he might express displeasure but will use the opportunity to instruct a puppy instead. Defeating Kunesh isn’t an easy feat, and the outcome of the battle hinges on whether Henry manages to emerge victorious in the duel.
Players should consider learning the Master Strike move from Tomcat before fighting Sir Kunesh.
As a gamer, I’m glad to know that Kunesh is a knight of honor, which means he won’t take Henry’s life. Instead, when Henry’s health depletes enough, Kunesh will call off the fight. In other words, there are two possible outcomes here: either Henry manages to regain his health and emerge victorious, or the duel ends when Henry’s health is low, with Kunesh sparing him.
- Win the Duel: Sir Kunesh yields and gives Henry 60 Groschen
- Lose the Duel: Henry yields and doesn’t win any Groschen
As I sit here, victory resonating through me, I can’t help but acknowledge that Sir Kunesh, a true knight of honor, will forever remain etched in my memory. Soon enough, he and his loyal companion will take their leave.
What Happens if You Walk Away From Sir Kunesh of Bellowitz

Should players be willing to forgo some coins, they have the option to withdraw from their encounter with Sir Kunesh of Bellowitz. Just like in any other situation within Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry’s decisions matter. Engaging in a duel with Kunesh escalates the level of violence. For those aiming for an honorable playthrough, it might be wise to step back from Kunesh, even if personal opinions differ.
During the conversation, players have the freedom to exit whenever they prefer. The final chance to do so is when they reach the point where they can either challenge him to a duel or simply walk away. To choose the latter, just select the “Leave” option. Henry will depart courteously, and Sir Kunesh will express his good wishes towards him.
In the duel, players won’t receive sixty pennies for defeating him. Eventually, Sir Kunesh and his paid companion will depart from this locale.
In the hypothetical sequel to “Kingdom Come: Deliverance,” engaging in a duel against Sir Kunesh of Bellowitz could potentially reward players with a substantial amount of Groschen. However, it’s important to note that surviving the duel is not guaranteed. To gain a fresh perspective on the ongoing conflict, players should definitely have a conversation with Sir Kunesh.
