With the Tush Push play confirmed for another NFL season from 2025-2026, one can’t help but ponder if this move deserves a spot in EA Sports’ Madden 26 too. Although it has stirred some debate, the Tush Push has proven to be an incredibly effective play for teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills. Since Philly popularized it, many teams have either attempted to replicate it or find ways to counteract it themselves. However, the real question that seems to be avoided is: Should this move be included in a video game?
Should EA Sports Put The Tush Push in Madden 26?
It’s our opinion that EA Sports should incorporate the Tush Push play into Madden NFL 26, given its legality and the game’s objective of mirroring real-life football. Last season, they even introduced a special animation for Eagles’ HB Saquon Barkley following his remarkable play against the Jaguars. Therefore, it seems logical to include a play that can be utilized by various teams as well.
There’s only two major reasons as to why we see this play might not be in the game.
- A) The NFL might still consider the play a health concern, and therefore might request this play not to be in the game
- B) It could be an overpowered play, manipulated to drain clock and win online games
But I’d like to dissect those arguments and argue myself as to why they don’t matter.
To begin with, the available evidence does not indicate that the Tush Push is an inherently risky move. Quarterbacks such as Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen have never sustained injuries while performing the Tush Push. Although some athletes have been injured during this play, these instances are not frequent enough to raise significant health concerns. Essentially, based on the data we have, the Tush Push is a standard play like any other in the game.
As a gamer, let me express my thoughts on Madden. Frankly, there are way too many overpowered moves in this game that have been around for ages, like Four Verticals. If an old move like Tush Push is still considered overpowered, then why not keep it? After all, the competitive gaming community’s desires should not overshadow the vast majority of casual players who make up the Madden playerbase. I bet if you asked around, most Madden players wouldn’t mind seeing Tush Push in the game. So, EA Sports, are we going to see it in the game… right?
As a gamer, I can’t help but hope that EA Sports includes the Tush Push in their upcoming game. It would certainly bring something fresh and exciting to the table. The ability to choose between a Tush Push and a QB sneak in short yardage situations would add an interesting layer of strategy. Some might argue that this could render the QB sneak obsolete, but let’s face it, not everyone uses every single play in the playbook, right?
In summary, our discussion revolves around the Tush Push feature in Madden 26, a feature we’re eager to see, not just as an Eagles fan but generally. We also have a wishlist for other improvements such as presentation enhancements, team builder, gameplay, and more. Keep your eyes peeled for potential updates on Madden 26 and College Football 26, as exciting news might be just around the corner!
