Shocking Reveal: Method Man Unmasked as ‘Stud Muffin’ on The Masked Singer!

Warning: Details about Season 13, Episode 8 of “The Masked Singer,” titled “Boy Band Night” on Fox, are revealed below. This episode aired on April 2.

The Wu-Tang is geared towards kids, while “The Masked Singer” invites viewers of all ages. In the latest episode of Fox’s popular competition, themed after boy bands, it was Method Man who was unveiled as the next celebrity to be exposed. He was the one behind the “Stud Muffin” costume’s voice.

Although I’m not part of a boy band, I understand the bond of being in a brotherhood, like that shared within Wu Tang Clan,” Method Man expressed during his pre-recorded segment, introducing himself as Stud Muffin. “We grew up together, achieved success together, and there was no end to our potential. However, when things are going well, some try to spoil it. But in the end, nothing can break the bond between me and my fellow group members. Tonight, I’m singing a song from one of my favorite groups, Bell Biv DeVoe, who once sent me a birthday greeting. This performance is my way of giving back to them.” He then performed “Poison” on the show.

In a naming game, Rita Ora chose Method Man, which Stud Muffin also approved, along with Robin Thicke. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg opted for M.C. Hammer, while Ken Jeong selected 2 Chainz. (This version maintains the original meaning but uses simpler language and a more conversational tone.)

Method Man referred to himself as ‘Stud Muffin’ last week, explaining that he’s had a lifelong love for muffins. He’s always dreamt of having an anonymous job like being a mascot, where he could pump up the crowd without being recognized. As Stud Muffin, his goal is to represent his team. From day one, he learned that having a strong group is crucial to success. Before achieving fame, however, he was cleaning floors instead. It wasn’t until he found his niche and got his big break that he went from the bottom to the top. Despite their newfound success, they still maintain the same hunger for victory as they had at the beginning. As Stud Muffin, he is here to get everyone excited because he’s here to win.

In the thirteenth season of “The Masked Singer,” Method Man was unveiled as Stud Muffin, Candace Cameron Bure emerged as Cherry Blossom, James Van Der Beek was revealed as Griffin, Flavor Flav was unmasked as Space Ranger, Sheana Shay was Ant, Aubrey O’Day was Bat, Oscar de la Hoya was Fuzzy Peas, and Cedric the Entertainer was Honey Pot.

As I settled into my seat for “Boy Band Night,” the energy was palpable, and it escalated when Group C took the stage to belt out the iconic tune, “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” by none other than the legendary Backstreet Boys.

In this competition, we’re talking about the Group C episode, a stage leading towards the select six, known as “The Lucky Six.” Currently, the members of The Lucky Six are Coral and Paparazzo, who triumphed in Group A, along with Pearl and Boogie Woogie from Group B.

Once again, for Season 13, we have our host Nick Cannon, with returning panelists including Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Rita Ora (who’s back for her third straight season, replacing Nicole Scherzinger), and Robin Thicke.

This season introduces an enigmatic figure known as “Detective Lucky Duck,” who will pop up regularly, offering hints and aiding the hosts in uncovering the identities behind masks. In this week’s episode, Season 2 champion Wayne Brady provided a clue to his fellow contestant: “My companion, Stud Muffin, has once performed alongside Ken.

Additionally, in these new “Crack the Case” scenarios, further hints are provided regarding eliminated contestants. For instance, for Stud Muffin, the clue was a street sign labeled “Stud Muffin District.” This translates to: “They named an entire street after us and our group. Anyone driving down that street is evidence that I, Stud Muffin, was real.

Season 13 of ‘The Masked Singer’ features episodes dedicated to popular franchises like ‘Shrek,’ ‘Ghostbusters,’ and the Grand Ole Opry as it celebrates its centennial. In addition, we have tributes for the Rat Pack, a series called ‘Voices of Olympus: Unmasking the Gods,’ ‘Carnival’ themes, ‘Boy Bands,’ ‘Decades,’ a round named ‘Lucky 6 Speed Guessing,’ a ‘Clash of the Masks,’ and the comeback of ‘Soundtrack of My Life.’

In Season 13, the mystery contestants are Honey Pot, Astronaut, Cherry Blooming Tree, Coral Reef, Pea Fuzz, Insect, Photographer, Griffin Bird, Dance Maniac, Pearl Oyster, Bat Creature, Yorkshire Terrier, Studded Dude, Loch Ness Monster, and Mad Lab Scientist.

Here were the performances on Wednesday’s Episode 8, “Boy Band Night”:

Nessy

Song: “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” by *NSYNC

Panel guesses: Dave Matthews, Darius Rucker, Pat Monahan

Clue for the Nick Cannon T-shirt: Chris Kirkpatrick from *NSYNC (the Hummingbird of Season 8) mistakenly fired at what turned out to be a t-shirt emblazoned with Nessy in a heart. He quipped, “Just like a boy bander, I was also known for my love songs.”

In the eighth season, Chris Kirkpatrick from *NSYNC (the Hummingbird) made an error and shot something that turned out to be a t-shirt with Nessy in a heart on it. He humorously compared himself to boy banders who are known for their love songs.

“In an unexpected twist, here I am belting out a boy band tune! Never in my dreams did I imagine this day would come, but hey, who doesn’t love a good theme night? Back in the days when boy bands ruled the charts, it was a fierce battle for TRL spots, chart positions, and album sales. I was battling these boys tooth and nail, but there was one boy band that always seemed to edge me out – *NSYNC. We were constantly competing, and it hurt every time they came out on top. So when we met at a celebrity golf tournament, I thought this was my chance to settle the score. Unfortunately, I played the worst game of my life, but I did get to share a drink with those guys, and we had a great time. It taught me that being part of the game is what truly matters. Looking back now, I miss that friendly rivalry, which is why I’m thrilled to be here today. So this one’s for you, *NSYNC. Can’t wait to hear your rendition of one of my songs someday.”*

Song: “Poison,” by Bell Biv DeVoe

Panel guesses: Method Man, M.C. Hammer, 2 Chainz

As a movie critic, I’d say: “The T-shirt worn by Omarion (the Season 5 Yeti) left quite an impression on me. It read, ‘Ingredients: A dash of sugar, a sprinkle of flour, and a Grammy of gold.’ This tee was a masterpiece, each element perfectly placed. I’m particularly thrilled about this one, as it truly captured the essence of success.

My Voice: “Listen carefully as I share some fascinating insights about the origins of boy bands. Pay heed, Jenny. Before the New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, and *NSYNC, it all began with vocal groups like The Temptations and The Four Tops. These legendary acts paved the way for groups such as Boyz II Men, New Edition, Bell Biv DeVoe. Although I might not be part of a boy band, I understand the bond of brotherhood. We grew up together, reached success together. There was no boundary to our potential. However, when things are going well, some attempt to corrupt it. But at the heart of it all, there’s nothing that can break my team’s bond. Tonight, I’ll be performing a song from one of my favorite groups. They once wished me on my birthday, so this is my tribute to them.

Previous panel guesses: Method Man, Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Jordan

Yorkie

Song: “Step By Step,” by New Kids on the Block

Panel guesses: Teresa Giudice, Paris Hilton, Erika Jayne

Hint for Nick Cannon’s T-Shirt Mystery: The T-shirt fired by Chris Kirkpatrick reads, “Touring my heart up.” It declares, “My life has been a mix of comedy and tragedy. But at the moment, it’s going really well. Yes, I’ve traveled extensively, globetrotting everywhere!

The golden age of boy bands was certainly unforgettable. However, it’s the scandals involving these groups that often make headlines. You see, I’ve got some personal experience with that myself. When I first burst onto the scene, the adoration was overwhelming. But then, I found myself entangled in a significant scandal, paying for someone else’s mistakes, someone I cared deeply about. My name became synonymous with controversy, appearing everywhere from news outlets to gossip columns and even billboards throughout town. It felt like I was being dragged through the mud. But I remained true to myself and did my best to keep a positive attitude. I am most proud of that resilience. Life can be messy, love can be messier, but it’s possible to overcome. If you have a solid foundation, you can rebuild bit by bit and emerge stronger. And I stand as living proof of that.

Previous panel guesses: Chelsea Handler, Paris Hilton, Kyle Richards

Mad Scientist Monster

Song: “I Swear,” by All-4-One

Panel guesses: Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban

Clue for Nick Cannon’s T-shirt puzzle: Omarion fires the gun. The shirt reads “BTS BSB.” This implies that it is a privilege to have received the same award as both the Backstreet Boys and BTS.

Narrator (in a dramatic tone, hinting at mad scientist): “Everyone may be captivated by handsome boy band members, but there’s often more beneath the styled hair. At their heart, boy bands are about harmony and connection. And I, being an expert in this area, know a thing or two. It was on a chilly autumn night, surrounded by friends during Thanksgiving, when our fingers brushed as we passed the cranberry sauce. A spark ignited between us then, and I knew right away that I would one day marry that woman. However, time went by, until a scorching summer day when we reconnected. I serenaded her so passionately that her lab equipment almost caught fire. I swore to stand by her side, no matter what the future held. Here’s an emotional boy band love song for that woman who holds my heart, my wife.
