The crime series “Sherlock & Daughter” made a powerful start on streaming platforms like Max last week, climbing to the fourth most popular show in their in-app top 10 list. Additionally, it achieved its highest season ratings yet on its American broadcasting channel, The CW.

In the U.S. and Australia, where it airs on SBS, it has already garnered critical success and high ratings.
The modern take on Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective series had its debut on the CW Network on April 16, and in its latest week, it reached its highest viewership of the season, increasing nearly 20% since its initial broadcast. Currently, this show ranks as the CW Network’s top scripted series both on traditional TV and second-highest series on digital platforms.
On SBS Australia, the show has experienced a significant surge, with a 150% average rise in total audience over the first four episodes (comparing seven-day ratings to overnight ones). Specifically, its Thursday night viewership skyrocketed by 99%, and this growth was particularly noticeable among key demographics: a 83% increase for viewers aged 25 to 54, as well as a staggering 188% rise in under-40 viewers compared to the same time last year. Additionally, it ranked fourth in overall demand.
The shows are distributed internationally by various entities: Warner Bros. Discovery in the U.K. and Ireland, YLE in Finland, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark, RUV in Iceland, Amedia in CIS regions, Palatin Media in German-speaking Europe, and Federation Studios for all other territories outside these specified areas. In essence, Palatin Media acts as the exclusive sales agent for German-speaking regions, while Federation Studios manages international distribution rights globally.
In the TV series ‘Sherlock & Daughter’, Emmy-nominated actor David Thewlis from ‘Fargo’ plays the role of Sherlock Holmes, while Blu Hunt is cast as Amelia Rojas, a Native American woman who seeks to convince Sherlock that he is her father. Dougray Scott, winner of International Emmys and BAFTAs, portrays Moriarty. The series is brainchild of Brendan Foley and he serves as the writer, producer. James Duff, known for ‘The Closer’, takes over as the showrunner.
