Sharon Stone Claims She Was ‘Cast and Removed Unexpectedly’ From ‘Another Simple Favor’

In a somewhat sarcastic social media message, actress Sharon Stone asserts that she was initially chosen for, but later removed from, the upcoming sequel to Paul Feig’s thriller “Another Simple Favor.

As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios film, debuting on May 1 after its SXSW world premiere, brings Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick back together on screen. Initially, it was unconfirmed if Meryl Streep would be part of the project, but she herself announced her casting on Instagram. However, just as mysteriously as it was revealed, Streep’s involvement in the movie seems to have been put on hold.

She expressed her enthusiasm over the surprising change in her role with absolutely no explanation, stating she ‘really enjoyed’ it, as a comment on ENews’ Instagram reel regarding the movie.

After the captivating “A Simple Favor” in 2018, I find myself returning to the intriguing dynamic between Stephanie (Kendrick) and Emily (Lively) in the sequel, titled “Another Simple Favor.” This time, they are journeying together towards the picturesque coast of Italy, as Emily is set to marry a prosperous businessman. Notably, Stephanie has penned a book detailing the events of the first movie, and it’s during a reading of this very book that Emily makes an unexpected appearance, using the occasion to extend a wedding invitation to Stephanie – one that hints at a potential revenge plot brewing beneath the surface.

In addition, actors such as Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, and Kelly McCormack will once again be taking on their respective characters.

According to EbMaster’s SXSW review, the movie was noted for having “more unexpected turns” but was deemed less enjoyable compared to its predecessor. Essentially, it was described as a blend of the intrigue found in ‘Knives Out’ and the whimsical style reminiscent of a cartoon version of ‘White Lotus’.

EbMaster has reached out to Amazon MGM Studios and reps for Paul Feig.
