After quite some time, Severance Season 2 has finally arrived, leaving us impatient fans behind. However, if you’re eager for a similar TV series, check out the one currently streaming on Netflix.
The screen changed to red, the end credits unfurled, and ‘The Windmills of Your Mind’ soared as your top-streamed tune this week. Indeed, Severance Season 2 has concluded, leaving both your Innie and Outie pondering their next viewing choice.
As a devoted admirer, I must confess, the Apple TV+ series is hailed as “generation TV,” heralding an era of enigmatic and eccentric suspense dramas that seem to pose more questions than they provide answers. Frankly, it’s a tall order for any other show to match such a standard!
Perhaps, you might need to revisit the original drama series, and luckily for us, it’s currently streaming on Netflix.
Lost is the perfect post-Severance watch
If you’re on the hunt for an engaging, character-centric dramatic series with plenty of twists, then make your way over to Netflix and catch (or revisit) the intriguing show known as Lost.
At first glance, they might appear as if they belong to two distinct genres: one is a fictional corporate enigma, while the other chronicles the experiences of a plane crash survivor group stranded on an isolated island. However, upon closer examination, you’ll find that these narratives share more similarities than differences.
In both Severance and Lost, complex enigmas unfold throughout the series, leaving both characters and viewers puzzled. Each installment concludes with a captivating cliffhanger, compelling us to stay engaged to unravel the mysteries that lie ahead.
As a devoted viewer, I can’t help but feel an undercurrent of tension running through both series. Much like the characters in ‘Lost,’ who find themselves at the mercy of mysterious forces beyond their control at Lumon, we fans are just as powerless against the enigmatic figures, ominous technology, and unexplained events that plague the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815.
And of course, both shows make a big deal of withholding answers and not giving too much away.
One recurring observation throughout the second season of Severance is that it’s been compared to the complexity and intrigue of the TV show Lost. A viewer on platform X expressed this after episode 7: “Severance has escalated to a level of mystery reminiscent of Lost.
“The final episode of Severance delivers a powerful emotional impact, reminiscent of Lost and The Leftovers,” one viewer commented, while another suggested, “I believe everyone should watch Lost (2004-2010), but particularly Severance viewers. If you find the lack of answers at the end of a season challenging, trust me, you haven’t seen anything yet.
Currently, all six captivating seasons of “Lost” can be streamed online on Netflix. In case you don’t subscribe to Netflix, you could alternatively check out the series on Hulu as well.
