Several guilds in Dune: Awakening declared themselves kings of the desert and formed a „council,” sparking a rebel movement

Recently, an unfortunate increase in dishonest players has been noticed in Dune: Awakening, making the gaming experience less enjoyable for many. A recent instance of unacceptable conduct was highlighted on one of the widely-used MMO servers, as shared by Reddit user Prototype1342.

On the ORSIPPIS server, a council composed of numerous large guilds was established, imposing stringent regulations on the players. These rules have led to restricted access to resources within the Deep Desert, with anyone attempting to reach them being swiftly confronted and attacked.

Additionally, it appears that, as per the ruling of these authoritarian groups, women and individual players are forbidden from participating in the game map. This information was shared by an internet user. The rule-breakers, who identify as “incels,” are said to be led by a figure known as Wisconsin Whim, who reportedly maintains constant vigil over the arena to enforce these regulations.

It’s no surprise that fellow Dune enthusiasts are contemplating an uprising. Prototype1342 is actively recruiting new soldiers to boost the rebellion’s combat power, with the ultimate goal of overthrowing the oppressive rulers.

Following the launch of “Dune: Awakening”, numerous players expressed dissatisfaction with the ending due to its bias towards larger guilds. Recognizing this issue after much feedback, the developers have decided to address it. Once the situation becomes more widely known, Funcom is expected to intervene in some way. This could involve removing the self-appointed council members from the game or implementing new rules to prevent such occurrences in the future.
