Seth Rogen’s Dream Guest Star for The Studio Season 2: A Long Shot!

Seth Rogen’s acclaimed show pokes fun at Tinseltown by featuring well-known celebrities playing themselves. With another season on the horizon and a promise of fresh faces, Rogen might find it challenging to secure his top choice for a guest star.

According to Seth Rogen, he’s keen on inviting semi-retired actor Daniel Day-Lewis for his show, The Studio. This is because Rogen considers Day-Lewis as the greatest living actor, an opinion that many share. However, it might be challenging to get Day-Lewis to agree since he’s been mostly absent from acting in recent years. Nevertheless, Rogen believes that a compelling idea could entice him to join their project.

In awe of his talent, I boldly stated at Apple TV+’s FYC event in Hollywood, “He’s truly the most exceptional actor alive today.” His unique approach to acting intrigues me so much that I believe it would make an engaging topic for our show. So, Daniel, if you’re open to it, let’s have a chat via Zoom. We’d love to share a compelling idea with you!

As a seasoned movie critic, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing Daniel Day-Lewis’ remarkable performances that have earned him numerous prestigious awards, including three Oscars. In 2017, he stunned us all with his retirement from acting. However, the cinematic world was abuzz in 2024 when it was announced that after a seven-year hiatus, Day-Lewis would be making a comeback to star in the upcoming drama film “Anemone.” The intrigue deepened when it was disclosed that this project held a special significance for him, as it was not only directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, but also co-written by father and son. At this juncture, it remains unclear whether Day-Lewis will return to the silver screen beyond “Anemone,” making his potential appearance in “The Studio” a tantalizing prospect, albeit one that seems somewhat remote at present.

Who Else Might Appear in The Studio Season 2?

Members of our team at the studio have their personal choices for potential star guests in upcoming episodes. Co-creator Evan Goldberg mentioned that director James Cameron, famous for films like Titanic and Avatar, could be a great fit, as he is both incredibly talented and occasionally temperamental.

Chase Sui Wonders (Quinn Hackett), the star of the series, has been quietly advocating for the inclusion of ‘Twilight’ actress Kristen Stewart in a guest role. She explained, “The connection is rooted in identity politics, and if Kristen is handling a sensitive issue, Quinn would try to empathize with her… and potentially find herself in a tricky predicament. We caught a glimpse of this in the initial season, but a scenario where Quinn gets into trouble for being too passionate about her identity politics would make for an entertaining dilemma.

There seems to be talk about reviving the classic film ‘Scarface’ for a staggeringly high price tag, and it appears that Al Pacino is willing to go along with it, leading some to question his artistic integrity. However, in response to this, he was also proposed as an alternative option.

In the meantime, Ike Barenholtz (Sal Saperstein) expressed his viewpoint that Leonardo DiCaprio is “the one,” stating, “I don’t believe he’s ever appeared on television. I consider Leo to be the golden goose.” On the other hand, Dewayne Perkins (Tyler) argued it should be Zendaya, expressing, “She’s outstanding. She embodies Hollywood in a trendy way, from being a child star to achieving such high status. She’s an excellent representation of what Hollywood can be at its best.

Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Petra) proposed that Larry David, her co-star from Curb Your Enthusiasm, could seamlessly blend in and bring a “pleasing equilibrium amidst the turmoil.
