As a movie lover who grew up reading the Percy Jackson series, I must say that the anticipation for season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is palpable. Having vivid memories (and nightmares?) of the Logan Lerman movies, it’s hard not to feel a pang of nostalgia as we approach the release of this new adaptation.
In the second season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” Luke Castellan seems poised for a rough time ahead. Production on this upcoming season, currently about a week into filming, is set to air on Disney+ in 2025. At the D23 Expo, cast and crew provided tantalizing hints about what’s to come. Executive Producer Craig Silverstein commented, “I think we’re just starting to get over how tall everyone has grown.”
Yet undetermined: the approach the series will take following Lance Reddick’s (Zeus’s actor) untimely demise. In February, the showrunners admitted they were still grappling with the reality of needing to recast or alter the plot, expressing their deep affection for Reddick as a collaborator and friend. “He was truly exceptional,” said executive producer Dan Shotz, reflecting on Reddick’s immense contribution to the show. “Each time I see him on screen, it fills me with pride that he was part of this team, and his involvement meant so much to him.”
