As a film enthusiast with decades of cinematic experiences under my belt, I am beyond excited about the winter programming at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures! The lineup is nothing short of a dream come true for any cinephile.

As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures has unveiled its winter lineup! It’s packed with fresh film series, screenings, public events, and educational programs. Some must-sees include an on-stage chat with the legendary singer-songwriter Diane Warren, followed by a viewing of “Armageddon,” and a live rendition by Warren herself. The schedule also boasts a 10th anniversary screening of “Selma,” where we’ll have special guests like director Ava DuVernay, lead actor David Oyelowo, and other key cast members joining us. It’s going to be an unforgettable cinematic experience!

As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that there are some exciting additions to our movie lineup! We have “Present Past: A Celebration of Film,” featuring films from the Academy Film Archive and more, with screenings scheduled for “Who Killed Vincent Chin?” on Dec. 4, “The Cardinal” on Dec. 11, and “Frenchman’s Creek” on Dec. 18. Starting from Dec. 7, get ready to dive deep into the captivating world of animation with “Animation and Me.

The museum is launching a fresh film series titled “Cyberpunk: Visualizing Potential Tomorrows Through Cinema,” in sync with the newly launched exhibit of the same name. This exhibit made its grand entrance on October 6, and was unveiled alongside “Color in Motion: Kinetic Journeys in Cinema” as part of PST ART: The Intersection of Art & Science, a program led by Getty that unites more than 70 cultural establishments across Southern California.

The upcoming winter season will be graced by a variety of distinguished visitors, such as Melody Barnett, Mark Bridges, David Cronenberg, Joe Dante, DuVernay, Harry Dodge, Kenny Gravillis, Mimi Haddon, Kathleen Hanna, Steak House (perhaps a band or restaurant name), Silas Howard, Shirley Kurata, Joi McMillon, Oyelowo, Peter Sohn, Nia Vardalos, Warren, and Marlon West.
