Selena Gomez Is a Billionaire, Bloomberg Estimates

As a seasoned movie reviewer who has been following Selena Gomez‘s career since her days as Alex Russo on “Wizards of Waverly Place,” I must say, this news doesn’t surprise me one bit! With her versatility and resilience, it was only a matter of time before she joined the billionaire club. Her Rare Beauty brand is truly magical, just like her acting and singing talents.

Selena Gomez is officially a billionaire, according to a Bloomberg report.

She is estimated to be worth $1.3 billion, making her one of the country’s youngest women with a 10-figure fortune. The publication determined a “vast bulk” of her net worth is attached to the success of her Rare Beauty makeup and cosmetics brand (which is available in the United States, Canada, and Mexico) that launched in 2019.

Despite being more visible in movies lately, Gomez has also been musically active. She released two new songs – “Love On” in February and “Single Soon” in 2023 – via her label Interscope Records, and hinted at a upcoming album. In 2023, she was consistently on the Billboard Hot 100 chart due to her hit single “Calm Down,” which she co-performed with Afrobeats sensation Rema and has been certified triple-platinum by the RIAA.

The Bloomberg article highlights not only Selena Gomez’s personal brand deals and sponsorships but also her significant influence on social media and mental health advocacy through her brand, Wondermind. The report values her net worth by considering factors such as her ownership stake in Rare Beauty, her involvement with Wondermind, the estimated sales of her music albums and properties, earnings from streaming agreements, partnership deals, ticket sales for concerts, and income from acting roles.

A representative for Gomez did not immediately return EbMaster‘s request for comment.

In her upcoming project, Gomez will take on the roles of executive producer and star in the Disney+ revival of the Disney Channel show she first appeared on as a teenager, titled “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Now renamed “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” this sequel series is set to debut on October 29 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the network.
