Sega Reveals Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut Hotline Number

Sega unveiled an engaging trailer for Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th. The video highlights the signature brawling gameplay that the franchise is famous for, along with some unexpected elements such as a novel online multiplayer mode called Red Light Raid. What truly piques curiosity, however, is the phone number shown towards the end of the trailer.

Calling 1-888-YAKUZA0 (1-888-925-8920) will transport you to an unusual automated system offering a range of choices. For example, it might invite you to chat with beloved character Kazuma Kiryu by pressing 0. Choosing this option results in various messages detailing his unavailability, either because he’s absent or tied up due to a murder case. The same applies if you try to reach Goro Majima. It’s important to note that the system will still enable you to leave a message for… someone? Additional options include placing an order from Smile Burger – a real-life burger chain featured in the game, but alas, it won’t go through.

Initially launched on PS3/PS4 in Japan during 2015, Yakuza 0 is now experiencing a re-release across multiple gaming platforms – marking the first enhancement for this game. Excitingly, for fans eager to revisit Kiryu and Majima’s early adventures, there are freshly unveiled cutscenes that have never been seen before. Moreover, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has incorporated a new feature called Red Light Raid – an engaging four-player cooperative mode. Gamers can select from 60 distinct characters, either joining friends in a team or finding partners through online matchmaking, to collaborate and conquer challenging missions together.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut will be priced at $50 upon its release alongside the Switch 2 on June 5.
