Seekers of Skyveil, A "Fresh Take" On Extraction, Kicks Off Closed Beta

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation that borders on exhilaration regarding the upcoming Closed Beta of Seekers of Skyveil in September 2024. Having witnessed the evolution of extraction titles from their humble beginnings to the current dominance of first-person shooters and grim-dark military sims, I am thrilled at the prospect of a fresh take on this genre by Elodie Games.

Players of Skyveil, the upcoming title from Elodie Games, will gain access to the Closed Beta testing phase on Steam starting in September 2024. This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for the game, setting it apart from what has come before. Elodie Games aims to bring a refreshing perspective to extraction games, which currently seem to be dominated by first-person shooters and dark military simulations.

Developers shared that they’ll finalize the core game mechanics first, then focus on enriching the gameplay by incorporating additional characters (Seekers), creating new content, and integrating additional features.

Skyveil’s gameplay caters to a variety of styles, blending MOBA, battle royale, and hero shooter genres in an exciting, rapid-fire experience. Players will have the chance to showcase their unique flair by selecting one of nine distinct characters, or Seekers, each with its own powers, appearance, and persona.

In this game, you’ll venture into a dungeon with up to two other explorers, fighting monsters, navigating to powerful bosses, and crossing paths with rival players. To hold onto your treasures, you must escape the dungeon alive. The Closed Beta testing will introduce an additional map, on top of the two from the Alpha playtests.

The upcoming closed Alpha test for Skyveil’s next play session will take place in North America on August 8 (Thursday) and August 9 (Friday). This game marks Elodie Games’ debut title, but the team behind it includes experienced professionals from studios such as Riot Games, Blizzard, and Ubisoft.
