Some players believe they’ve spotted hidden DLC locations on the complete bird’s-eye view of the Monster Hunter Wilds map, suggesting that Capcom may have subtly included them in plain sight.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll find a connected world made up of five unique areas filled with various creatures. Each region is home to its own collection of beasts.
As players delve deeper into each location, curiosity about upcoming Downloadable Content (DLC) releases naturally arises. Fortunately, Capcom has announced that two free updates are on the horizon, with one arriving in April and another sometime during summer 2025.
Users might anticipate that upcoming updates will feature new monsters and aesthetic items. Yet, the creators have yet to clarify if these updates could potentially unveil undiscovered map areas in the future.
MH Wilds freecam view reveals unexplored locales
Reddit user Tacumoto observed that some spots on the Wilds maps offer a vantage point of other areas.
Intrigued, the player mentioned they started exploring extensively and found out there’s an enormous landmass, practically an entire continent, which was previously unbeknownst to them. All the maps of this vast expanse were available, providing a comprehensive view all at once.
It’s now crystal clear that smooth travel between the Oilwell Basin and Iceshard Cliffs is not possible due to their vast distance. Given this, fans are speculating whether the vacant areas of the landmass might be used for upcoming downloadable content (DLC) updates.
One individual commented that the heavily cratered region, situated at the map’s bottom left, “definitely appears to be growing or spreading.
Someone else said of the cratered region, “It really is perfect grounds for a DLC, all I’m sayin.”
A different user in the discussion mentioned, “I’m curious if the DLC map might be located somewhere in between the basin and the cliffs.
It’s important to remember that the developers of Monster Hunter Worlds have so far only confirmed two free updates, neither of which seem to include new map locations (at least for now). However, the substantial Iceborne expansion, released over a year post-Monster Hunter World, has sparked speculation among fans that the team might be planning more extensive additions in the future.
On March 25, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto will conduct a live stream where they’ll disclose further details about upcoming updates. (Capcom will share the info)
