Sea Of Thieves Finally Gets A Much-Requested Feature After More Than 6 Years

Ahoy there, matey! After six long years and 27 days at sea, I can finally bend my knees in Sea of Thieves! I never thought I’d see the day, but Rare has truly broken the pirate’s curse. It’s like they read my sea diary and decided to make a change!

At long last, Rare has lifted the pirate’s age-old curse in Sea of Thieves, allowing players to stoop or crouch. Indeed, after a wait of six years, six months, and 27 days, swashbucklers can now adopt a less imposing stance amidst the multiplayer action-adventure.

However, it seems that Rare is keeping track, as they recently disclosed on X that Sea of Thieves does indeed count these things. A brief video was even shared to demonstrate the agility of a pirate in the game, complete with some amusing fanfare to add to the celebration. This appears to be part of their strategy for Season-14, focusing on “covert tactics,” as indicated by the developer.

After a period of six years, six months, and twenty-seven days, the ability to bend your knees has finally been introduced in Sea of Thieves. 🧎‍♂️

As a sea-faring gamer, I’m thrilled to dive into the chaos of Sea of Thieves Season 14, aptly named “Making Mischief”! Yesterday, the update was unleashed upon the high seas, and Rare has given us a sneak peek at some fantastic new features. In a recent YouTube video, they’ve showcased the addition of crouching, disguises, a grapple gun, and a blowpipe with darts! The grapple gun will surely make escaping tough situations or reaching distant islands easier, while the blowpipe will add a new layer of strategy to combat. I can hardly wait to see what other surprises await me in this latest season of Sea of Thieves!

Previously this year, Sea of Thieves made its way onto four gaming platforms, including the rival PS5. This move extended the game to Sony’s system, earning it a spot on TopMob’s list of 25 top cross-platform games for friends to play. Now, Xbox and PlayStation gamers can embark on sea voyages together.

Moreover, it’s been said that Sea of Thieves has sold remarkably well on PS5, surpassing the one million mark. Interestingly enough, this game also recently made an entry into the top 20 best-selling games list for August in the US, landing at the No. 16 spot.
