Today at Summer Game Fest Live with Geoff Keighley, the developers behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Marvel: Cosmic Invasion – namely, Tribute Games – revealed their upcoming project titled Scott Pilgrim EX. This is the first Scott Pilgrim video game since Ubisoft’s Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World in 2010, and it’s one that several members of Tribute Games have contributed to.
The game titled “Scott Pilgrim EX” is a side-scrolling brawler with seven playable characters, each boasting distinctive special moves. It supports up to four players for both offline and online cooperative gameplay. In this fresh Scott Pilgrim journey, you’ll have the freedom to explore Toronto in a non-linear fashion, enabling you to uncover the game’s rendition of the city at your own pace.
The game is being collaboratively produced and released by Tribute Games in a “creative alliance” with Brian Lee O’Malley, the creator of Scott Pilgrim. In this venture, Scott Pilgrim EX will showcase fresh pixel art from artist Paul Robertson, along with new music from Anamanaguchi, who contributed to the soundtrack of the previous game. BenDavid Grabinski, director of the Netflix movie “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” is also involved in this project as a creative consultant.
Previously, a video game based on the Scott Pilgrim intellectual property, titled “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” debuted in 2010 for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In 2021, an updated version of this game, called the Complete Edition, became available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and personal computers.
2026 is the planned release year for Scott Pilgrim on platforms including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and personal computers (PCs).
