As a seasoned cinephile with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of “The Scavengers” by PGS Entertainment and Little Moon Animation has piqued my interest immensely. Having traversed through countless animated series from various corners of the globe, I can confidently say that this Irish sci-fi adventure comedy series is a breath of fresh air.
This week, PGS Entertainment is introducing the global distribution of “The Scavengers,” an exciting new animated series for children and families, produced by Ireland’s Little Moon Animation. At Mipcom, PGS is connecting with possible distributors to discuss business opportunities.
Located in Dublin, Little Moon stands as an autonomous CG animation studio, renowned for its expertise in real-time pipelines and technology. This company caters to global audiences with its productions. Previously, it was responsible for animating the preschool series “Fia’s Fairies,” which earned two nominations at the Irish Animation Awards, when broadcast on RTEjr. Currently, they are working on a 30-minute TV special called “Tales from the Wagon,” which is still in development.
Produced by Vanessa Robinson and helmed by Eoghan Garvey (“Fia’s Fairies”), “The Scavengers” is a science fiction adventure-comedy series suitable for all ages, taking place in Ireland a thousand years from now in the year 3000. The show centers around the crew of the eponymous spaceship, who are Earth’s first and only inhabitants in nearly a millennium. Each episode will chronicle the escapades of Arrow, his sister Starla, and their best friend robot ARG as they grapple with the unforeseen perils of future Earth.
The show, intended for children aged 6 to 12, is created by David McCamley from Little Moon and broadcast by RTEjr in Ireland.
Philippe Soutter, president of PGS Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm about their latest collaboration with Little Moon: ‘The show’s quality is extraordinary, merging breathtaking animation with captivating narratives. We think it will strongly connect with international youth audiences, and we can’t wait to share this imaginative production through our worldwide distribution channels.’
Vanessa Robinson, CEO and Co-Founder of Little Moon Animation, expressed: “Working alongside PGS Entertainment on ‘The Scavengers’ has been a pleasure for us at Little Moon. Their knowledge in the children’s entertainment industry, coupled with our creative ideas for the series, ensures that our Scavenger family tales will be enjoyed by many. Together, we are committed to offering an extraordinary experience for young viewers and eagerly anticipate families joining Arrow, Starla, and ARG on their thrilling journeys.
