The main developer for Schedule 1 has hinted that the complete launch of the game is likely several years away, yet he’s promised exciting new content updates to engage fans in the meantime.
The triumph of Schedule 1 has been invigorating for many, serving as a refreshing change amidst an era where top-tier games frequently dominate Steam’s rankings. Remarkably, this indie game garnered an enormous player base and swiftly climbed the ranks to become one of the most popular games, all while it was still in developmental stages. This is truly impressive considering the project had only a single developer involved.
Despite the fact that there’s already a wealth of material to explore, those who have been playing from the start are eagerly anticipating what new features this game will unveil next. This could range from developing drugs that transform users into zombies, or creating anti-gravity experiences, among other possibilities.
The original creator of Schedule 1, Tyler, has now provided fans with additional information on upcoming content releases and expressed his thoughts on the timeline for the complete game launch.

Schedule 1 still has a long way to go
As reported by Tyler, during his live stream on Twitch on April 24, 2025, he revealed that the “final version” of the game is estimated to be released within a span of “two to three years.” He added that due to an increase in meetings recently, the development process of the game has been moving at a slower pace than initially anticipated.
Indeed, it appears the game may not exit Early Access for some time due to its current status as a solo developer project with an extensive roadmap of features. Nonetheless, considering these circumstances, it seems quite reasonable.
During our live stream, we provided more details about the various new elements that have been previewed on our public Trello board for the game.
Among the features included here is an eagerly anticipated map expansion. Tyler has hinted at incorporating a “shantytown” close to the docks and a “high-class district” on the hills. Regardless of where you look, there’s much to get enthusiastic about.
To give you a recap, here are some of the content ideas planned for future updates:
- Improved performance and Steam Deck release
- New “purchasable” location
- The first major update will be decided by the community, including cartel interactions, police raids, or a new drug
- The new drug will be mushrooms
- Extra lore
- Map expansions
- Employees will be able to do more, and their beds and lockers will take up less space
- Filters will be added for storage units
- Uncle Nelson will play a bigger role in the future
- More vehicle customizations (wheels, spoilers, cosmetics, and maybe performance options)
- More money laundry properties
