Scarlett Johansson, an exceptional Hollywood star, lacks a significant presence on popular social media platforms such as X and Instagram, and it appears this situation won’t be changing soon. In an interview with InStyle magazine for their latest cover story, the Academy Award nominee disclosed that her production studio for “Jurassic World Rebirth” had inquired about her potential participation on Instagram to assist in promoting the upcoming summer blockbuster. However, she has shown no enthusiasm for this idea.
Universal Pictures emailed me today, asking if I’d participate on Instagram alongside the launch of ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth.’ Scarlett Johansson pondered, “I often face pressure to be on social media. I wonder, is it possible to join and still remain authentic? It just didn’t feel right for me.
Everything I share is rooted in reality; that’s the essence of it,” she commented. “If I were someone who loved social platforms, I might jump on the trend. But I don’t. I believe our movie will still succeed.
Johansson will star alongside Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey in “Jurassic World Rebirth”. With Universal expecting big things from this blockbuster, as every film in the previous “Jurassic World” trilogy surpassed $1 billion at global box offices. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard were the leads in those movies. Notably, “Rebirth”, directed by Gareth Edwards (known for “Godzilla” and “Rogue One”), is significant because it brings back screenwriter David Koepp, who wrote the scripts for Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” (1993) and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” (1997).
As a dedicated film enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement about the potential success of “Rebirth.” If this film takes off, it could mean another triumphant addition to Scarlett Johansson’s impressive list of mega-franchise victories, following her unforgettable role as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
You may recall that my beloved superhero character was laid to rest in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” After that poignant farewell, I had the privilege of leading the prequel film “Black Widow,” which marked the end of my journey within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an exclusive interview with InStyle, I shared that this would be it – my MCU chapter is now closed.
Natasha (Black Widow) has passed away. It’s true, she’s no longer alive. Some Marvel fans find it hard to accept, as they keep hoping she might return. However, Johansson suggests that it’s time for us to move on. After all, she was the one who saved the world; let her have her moment as a hero.
The movie ‘Jurassic World: Reborn’ will be released in theaters on July 2, courtesy of Universal Pictures. Visit InStyle’s site to delve into Scarlett Johansson’s most recent cover feature.
