The show is nearing its end. After two great seasons, it’s almost time for the final episode.
The final episode of the series will air on May 13th. Just under a month before the finale, Prime Video released the official trailer.
Good Omens Wraps Up Aziraphale & Crowley’s Story
This funny and fantastical series is adapted from the 1990 novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Neil Gaiman developed the show, a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and BBC Studios. The first season already told the complete story of the book, following an angel named Aziraphale and a demon named Crowley as they attempted to stop the end of the world – and the arrival of the Antichrist – using various references to Christian beliefs and figures.
Following the events that prevented the apocalypse, the second season of the show focused on Heaven’s search for the angel Gabriel, who showed up at Aziraphale’s bookshop with amnesia. A recent video from Prime Video, featuring Quelin Sepulveda as Muriel, revealed that Gabriel had actually fallen in love with Beelzebub, the ruler of Hell, during the events of Season 2.
The second season ended with Crowley admitting his love for Aziraphale and suggesting they leave everything behind together. But then, Metatron made him an offer he couldn’t turn down, leading Crowley to go back to Heaven.
I’m so excited for Season 3! It’s going to finish off the stories we’ve been following, just like the trailer hinted at. Basically, Good Omens 3 continues right after Season 2, with Aziraphale and Crowley – that amazing angel and demon duo – getting into their biggest, most personal adventure yet. It feels like everything’s been building to this!
Their friendship, which has lasted for thousands of years, fell apart when Aziraphale agreed to go back to Heaven, leaving Crowley alone. This choice made Aziraphale a powerful archangel in charge of overseeing the Second Coming, a huge task that’s causing him a lot of stress, especially since his actions are upsetting other angels. Meanwhile, Crowley, deeply hurt by Aziraphale’s decision, is struggling and aimlessly wanders the streets of Soho, trying to distract himself from the pain.
The final season of Good Omens will reunite Aziraphale and Crowley, forcing them to address their feelings for each other, overcome past hurts, and strengthen their connection. They’ll face challenges ranging from London’s criminal underworld to demonic plots, all while dealing with personal betrayals and their own complicated emotions. Ultimately, they’ll have to decide if their friendship—and the world—is worth fighting for.
Good Omens Finale Will Be a Feature-Length Film
Despite being advertised as “Season 3,” the new release on Prime Video isn’t a typical multi-episode finale. It’s a single installment that comes nearly three years after the last one.
Following allegations of sexual misconduct against Neil Gaiman, Amazon decided to conclude the series with a feature-length movie. Despite Gaiman’s departure from the show, production continued, though it faced multiple delays.
Michael Sheen, the lead actor who plays Aziraphale, shared his excitement about the finale on X (formerly Twitter) after a screening. He said it was an emotional experience, making him both laugh and cry, and that viewers will likely have strong reactions to different parts. He also mentioned it felt like the finale could have been longer—six episodes instead of the actual length—but expressed gratitude for what they were able to achieve. He praised the direction, acting, visuals, and overall effort, and playfully added that nightingales feature in the episodes.
The show has been very well-received, earning an 86% approval rating from critics after its first two seasons. Viewers seem to love it even more, with a 94% approval score.
Okay, so I’m super excited because Michael Sheen and David Tennant are back as Aziraphale and Crowley – honestly, they are those roles. And it’s not just them! A bunch of the original cast are returning too, like Doon Mackichan as Michael, Gloria Obianyo as Uriel, Liz Carr as Saraqael, Paul Chahidi as Sandalphon, Quelin Sepulveda as Muriel, and even Sir Derek Jacobi as Metatron! Plus, they’ve added Bilal Hasna, who’s playing Jesus, which is… interesting, to say the least.
