Sauce company Prego reveals $20 device that records family conversations during meals

Prego is releasing a special, limited-edition item meant to encourage families to connect during mealtimes. It’s timed to coincide with both Mother’s Day and Screen-Free Week.

The company is teaming up with StoryCorps to offer the Connection Keeper Bundle, a $20 kit that helps families capture and remember special moments they share during mealtimes.

This special offer will be available online starting April 27th, but only while supplies last.

Prego launches screen-free recorder for family dinners

The main feature of this package is the Connection Keeper, a device that records conversations at mealtimes without using phones or apps, helping families connect without distractions.

The package comes with the recorder, plus a jar of Prego Traditional Pasta Sauce, a set of conversation starter cards developed with StoryCorps, a USB-C charging cable, and an easy-to-follow instruction guide.

Prego says this device captures precious moments – like laughter, stories, and daily life – and saves them so families can enjoy those memories again and again.

Prego has a long history of bringing families together through shared meals and creating special moments, says Jaime Zagami, Prego’s Marketing Director. Now, through a collaboration with StoryCorps, Prego is encouraging families to take time to reconnect and capture the joyful conversations and memories made during mealtimes, turning them into keepsakes.

Sandra Clark, the CEO of StoryCorps, explained that truly listening is a powerful way to show respect and build connections with the people we care about, and that important stories often come out in simple, everyday conversations.

This new product release connects with the theme of family moments in May. Prego is promoting it as a way to help families enjoy more focused, unplugged time together during meals.
