Sarah Michelle Gellar Says She Knows ‘A Few’ Children of Original ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Cast Members Who Auditioned For Reboot

The “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reboot may have blood ties to the original.

During an interview with Us Weekly, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan mentioned that they are aware of several kids from the initial “Buffy” cast who tried out for roles in the Hulu remake.

Hannigan mentioned that she knows someone who tried out for a part on the program. Then, Gellar shared that she knows someone from the show whose kid had also auditioned for the show. Additionally, she knows several individuals from the show whose children were cast.

Hannigan then replied, “It better not have been one of my kids!”

At this point, we can’t confirm if any of the children mentioned have been given roles for the series, because only Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who is playing the lead character, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, reprising her role from the franchise after a 22-year gap, have been announced as cast members. The specifics of the plot are still being kept secret, but it’s known that the pilot will focus on a new slayer, with Gellar appearing in a recurring role as Buffy.
