The much-awaited follow-up movie from Radio Silence, previously unnamed, has been given a formal release date by Searchlight Pictures.
According to the latest updates, the sequel to “Ready or Not: Here I Come” is scheduled to hit theaters on April 10, 2026. This upcoming movie will bring back Samara Weaving as Grace, who was a central character in the first film. She’ll be joined by other well-known figures in the horror genre, including Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood.
As a passionate cinephile, I can’t help but feel excited about the stellar cast that this upcoming movie boasts. Kathryn Newton, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, and none other than the maestro of body horror himself, David Cronenberg, are all set to grace our screens. Although the storyline remains shrouded in mystery, it’s been verified that Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will once again take the helm as directors from a script penned by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. These talented gentlemen are also serving as executive producers alongside Weaving, Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, and Paul Neinstein. The film is being supervised by Richard Ruiz and Cornelia Burleigh for Searchlight Pictures.
Samara Weaving Returns in the Ready or Not Sequel
A youthful woman with sparkling eyes accompanies her finance, Alex Le Domas, on a journey to his affluent family’s expansive mansion. Shortly after their arrival, Grace finds herself the target in a lethal game of hide-and-seek, as the entire family plots against her with chilling intent, tracing back to a dark bloodline that is said to be connected to the devil. The movie Ready or Not, boasted several beloved actors such as Andie MacDowell, Henry Czerny, Mark O’Brien, Adam Brody, and Melanie Scrofano, and received critical acclaim upon its debut.
As a movie enthusiast, I can confidently say that “Ready or Not” was not just a critical hit, but it also resonated deeply with the audience. The movie managed to rake in an impressive $57.6 million at the box office against a humble budget of only $6 million. At the time of writing, the film boasts an outstanding 89% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 322 reviews from critics. This strong critical reception and financial success has paved the way for a sequel, which was officially announced in March 2024.
In May, news emerged that details about the sequel were under wraps, with Sarah Michelle Gellar admitting then that she was bound by a secrecy oath, unable to reveal even her character’s name. Later, Gellar expressed her enthusiasm for the movie, stating that if given the chance 15 years ago, she would have loved to be part of the original cast.
Ready or Not: Here I Come is set to arrive in theaters on April 10, 2026.
