In a new development, Samuel L. Jackson will be starring as the main character in his debut television series, titled “NOLA King,” which is a spin-off of the show “Tulsa King.
Samuel L. Jackson’s films have amassed a substantial amount of revenue, surpassing that of many others throughout history, mainly due to his roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically as Nick Fury.
In addition to appearing in series such as Secret Invasion and What If…?, Jackson’s career has primarily been centered around films instead of television.
The upcoming series NOLA King, produced by Taylor Sheridan and executive produced by Sylvester Stallone from Tulsa King, is about to undergo some changes. Here’s what we currently know about the show.
What is NOLA King about?

As a gamer, I’m following the virtual journey of Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., who’s aiming to replicate the success that Dwight Manfredi, portrayed by Sylvester Stallone, attained in Tulsa. His goal is right here in my hometown, New Orleans.
In this tale, we encounter Russell Lee Washington Jr., who formed a bond with Dwight Manfredi during a decade spent in federal prison. The New York-based Renzetti crime family subsequently sends Russell to Tulsa with a mission: to eliminate Dwight definitively.
As a gamer, I’m drawn back to the familiar streets of New Orleans, a city I forsake four decades ago, inspired by the transformation wrought by Dwight in Tulsa and captivated by the concept of redemption. This journey is not just about reconnecting with my family and old friends, but also about reclaiming the city that once was mine. The challenge ahead is daunting, yet I am ready to seize this second chance and write a new chapter in the saga of my life.
Through this action, he angers his past employers from New York and exposes himself to threats from both criminal elements and police forces he had encountered in Old Orleans (NOLA).
How Tulsa King sets up the new show
In September, you’ll meet Russell Lee Washington Jr., who is set to make an appearance in the third season of Tulsa King, streaming on Paramount+.
In the initial image from the series, we find the character engaged in a drink with Manfredi, signifying that Jackson and Stallone will soon appear together on-screen.
Referring to the casting decision, Stallone stated in a declaration: “Samuel L. Jackson is undoubtedly the ideal fit to lead this fresh expedition through New Orleans.
We don’t have a fixed launch date to share just yet, but rest assured, we’ll keep you updated once we do. In the meantime, check out our 2025 TV schedule and learn about the top-streamed series of the year so far.
