Samuel L. Jackson Joins ‘Tulsa King’ Spinoff ‘NOLA King’ in 2026 – Here’s What We Know!

It appears that no one has made a serious effort to curtail it, but it seems improbable they could if they did. In addition to several series focused on Yellowstone, there are shows like Lioness, Landman, Mayor of Kingstown, and an unnamed one in development. It looks like Sheridan’s control over Paramount+’s streaming lineup is expanding again, as the final show mentioned here is getting its own spinoff, and will likely bring another along with it.

Tulsa King, similar to every creation by Sheridan, boasts a star-studded cast. With Sylvester Stallone stepping into his first major TV role since his action movie days, this series has provided him a fresh playing field. Known for iconic roles in Rocky and Rambo, Stallone, as Dwight “the General” Manfredi, has delivered one of his best recent performances. In the third season, currently being filmed, he will be joined by another industry legend, Samuel L. Jackson.

According to Deadline, it’s been announced that Jackson will feature prominently in Season 3 of Tulsa King, portraying Russell Lee Washington, a character with a similar criminal past as Stallone’s Manfredi. This character is expected to clash with the crime boss before his narrative continues in NOLA King, a spinoff being penned by Dave Erickson from Mayor of Kingstown.

Could ‘Tulsa King’ Be as Sprawling as ‘Yellowstone?’

One thing Taylor Sheridan appears particularly fond of is crafting expansive environments for his characters to inhabit. For instance, the series Yellowstone led to multi-generational storytelling through two prequels, 1883 and 1923, with more connected shows in both the past and future of the Yellowstone narrative on the horizon. Now it seems that Tulsa King will be launching its own television universe with NOLA King.

Although Manfredi himself may not be the central focus, the development of a spinoff indicates ongoing efforts to explore and expand characters and stories from Sheridan’s rich collection of tales. In essence, it’s likely that a series delving into Dwight Manfredi’s younger years is already being contemplated.

The third season of “Tulsa King” is anticipated to debut on screens by year’s end, while filming for the spinoff titled “NOLA King” is slated for early 2026. This implies that we can expect “NOLA King” to premiere around late summer 2026, joining a lineup of other series, such as two new continuations of “Yellowstone“, additional episodes of “Lioness“, and possibly more captivating creations birthed from the creative flow of Taylor Sheridan.
