2008 saw the sensational box office debut of “Mamma Mia!”, and its sequel “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” followed suit a decade later. However, since then, the popular ABBA-inspired musical film series has been quiet. Recently, global producer Judy Craymer has sparked excitement among fans with her revelation that “Mamma Mia 3” is still in development, and she’s even hinted at a potential role for pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter in the upcoming movie, although casting decisions have yet to be made.
Supporters advocated for Carpenter to star in “Mamma Mia 3” following her performance of the film’s theme song and other ABBA hits during her tour. Many thought she would make an excellent choice to play Amanda Seyfried’s on-screen daughter, mirroring how Cher and Meryl Streep played mother and daughter in the second movie, despite their close age difference. When asked about Carpenter’s potential role in the third installment, Craymer proposed, “She could be a divine figure or a relative resembling Meryl Streep.
