Ryan Seacrest Films First ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Episodes After Pat Sajak’s Retirement, Posts Video From Set: ‘I’m Still Spinning With Excitement’

As a seasoned movie reviewer with a deep appreciation for television history, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement as I watch Ryan Seacrest begin his journey as the new host of “Wheel of Fortune.” Having grown up watching Pat Sajak and Vanna White spin the wheel and solve puzzles together, it’s humbling to see Seacrest stepping into such iconic shoes.

Ryan Seacrest gave fans a peek into his experience on the initial day of hosting “Wheel of Fortune” following Pat Sajak’s retirement.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m absolutely thrilled to pieces! I couldn’t contain my excitement as I stepped foot onto the movie set for the very first time. In that Instagram post, I gushed, “I’m still reeling from the experience!” And in the video, my words were barely audible as I exclaimed, “My heart is racing with anticipation!”

“He quips, ‘The wheel may be smaller than you imagine, just like me.’ With a chuckle, he spins it for the first time. ‘I couldn’t sleep last night, I was too thrilled,’ he shares. ‘I managed to get some rest, but my excitement kept me awake in anticipation of the alarm ringing.'”

As he continued strolling deeper into the studio, he drew attention to a television screen replaying an amusing clip of Sajak and Vanna White playfully pie-ing each other during a past episode. Additionally, there was a glass case showcasing Vanna’s old gowns, as well as her two Emmy Awards and various other mementos from the show.

As a dedicated cinema-goer, I can’t help but get excited about the Seacrest era of “Wheel of Fortune” based on Pat Sajak’s words to me in a recent promo. He shared that what will bring me the greatest joy is connecting with the contestants and building relationships with our home audience. The passion people have for this show is truly remarkable, they make it a daily routine to join us for a half-hour of family entertainment.

“Sajak added, expressing his strong belief, ‘You won’t discover a more excellent job opportunity nor a superior co-host than White.'”

Seacrest was named as Sajak’s successor on “Wheel of Fortune” in June 2023. Sajak’s last episode aired on June 7, attracting 11 million viewers. However, he will still host “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” for one more season on ABC starting this fall. In September 2023, White renewed her contract with the show, keeping her on board until the 2025-2026 seasons.
