More recently, Twisted Pixel announced the release of Deadpool VR – the first single-player Deadpool game since 2013. Unlike in the three previous live-action films, Ryan Reynolds won’t be reprising his role as Deadpool. Instead, Neil Patrick Harris from How I Met Your Mother has been cast to voice the character. In response to this news, Reynolds hinted that he might take on one of Harris’ famous roles. If Harris can play a part in one of his movies, then Reynolds plans to adopt one of Harris’ legendary characters.
In 1989, Harris made his debut in the humorous TV series ‘Doogie Howser, M.D.’, where he played a 14-year-old genius in medicine. This is the character that Reynolds imitates in this video, sporting Doogie’s lab coat, glasses, and old computer. The video also includes a brief appearance from Robyn Lively, who acted as Michele Farber in the series. Lively happens to be Reynolds’ brother-in-law, so it was probably not difficult to get her for this cameo.
Twisted Pixel has disclosed some tidbits about Deadpool VR, a unique tale that throws Deadpool into the Mojoverse, where he confronts Mojo and Lady Deathstrike. In this game, players will take charge of Deadpool, utilizing his distinctive abilities to fire, stab, and perform parkour maneuvers to escape danger. However, when all seems lost, Deadpool possesses a healing factor comparable to Wolverine’s capacity to recover from nearly any wound. Not even being decapitated has managed to kill Deadpool in the comics.
Deadpool VR is slated for exclusive launch on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S VR systems, though a specific release date has yet to be announced.
