Ryan Gosling is not heading for a space journey related to the Barbie-inspired Blue Origin project; instead, he’s set to star in an upcoming Star Wars movie. This revelation was made at the Star Wars Celebration event scheduled for 2025 in Japan by Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni. The film, titled “Star Wars: Starfighter,” is a long-anticipated project from Shawn Levy and is slated for release on May 28, 2027.
Based on a Disney press statement, the upcoming “Star Wars: Starfighter” is set approximately five years after “The Rise of Skywalker.” Unlike previous installments, this film won’t mark the start of another trilogy. Previous news suggests that Jonathan Tropper, who collaborated with Shawn Levy on “The Adam Project,” will pen the script. Since 2022, Levy has been developing this project, which might have allowed for the occasional secret “Star Wars” brainstorming sessions during filming of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” An intriguing concept: imagine Ryan Reynolds in space uttering a certain expletive; it could be quite entertaining!
