RuneScape Dragonwilds: Early Access Secrets Revealed!

The much-anticipated early access version of RuneScape’s Dragonwilds is now available, with developers unveiling an extensive blueprint detailing the various features they aim to incorporate into this collaborative survival game.

On April 15th, everyone was surprised when Jagex suddenly released RuneScape Dragonwilds, a fresh survival adventure that shares its universe with the renowned MMO. At present, it’s available in early access on PC, and while the core version is filled with exciting features, there are many more additions planned for the future.

Here’s the full roadmap of upcoming content for RuneScape Dragonwilds.

RuneScape Dragonwilds roadmap

Jagex unveiled a multitude of content and features they intend to incorporate in the future, though no release schedule has been set yet. Since the game was recently launched, their immediate focus is on ensuring smooth operation and resolving any initial problems that may arise. Once those tasks are taken care of, they’ll start working on upcoming updates.

New region: Fellhollow

On Dragonwilds’ map, there is a fresh region under development called Fellhollow. This place hasn’t been featured in the RuneScape world before, but its description as being “caught between existence and nonexistence” suggests it could be quite grim and gloomy.

On a positive note, the recurring figure of Death will guide you through the various perils, such as spirits, skeletons, and colossal undead ogres. Furthermore, this territory introduces a new dragon adversary – Imaru, the soul-consumer – whom you’ll encounter frequently during your travels.

New skills

In the thrilling world of Ashenfall, as you journey and persevere, you enhance specific talents to gain additional powers. At present, there are seven at your disposal, yet another trio is set to debut in upcoming patches.

  • Magic
  • Ranged
  • Farming

In simpler terms, Magic is expected to perform as described, enhancing the potency of your spells and providing you with fresh abilities. On the other hand, Ranged specializes in your skill with distant weapons such as a bow, while Farming simplifies your process of collecting resources.

RuneScape Roots

According to the developers’ preliminary plan, there’s a forthcoming update titled “RuneScape Roots.” Although details are scarce, it appears that this update will offer new quests to embark on, equipment to acquire, and perhaps some fresh tunes as well.

Given its title, it’s reasonable to anticipate that this content is rooted in earlier games from the series, like RuneScape 3 and Old School RuneScape. Therefore, if you’re a seasoned fan, be prepared for a wealth of familiar items and references.

Other content

Beyond the key enhancements, we’re also working on several minor improvements. These include:

  • Lesser dragons (new enemy type)
  • Dragon Slayer gear
  • Masterwork weapons
  • More base-building options
  • Hardcore modes
  • Creative mode
  • New animals
  • New vaults
  • Extra crafting tiers
  • Higher skill caps

Improvements

Apart from the fresh content I’ve just mentioned, I’m thrilled to share that Jagex is dedicated to consistently rolling out updates and enhancements for these key systems:

(As a fan, I can hardly wait to see what they have in store!)
