RPG Developer Bakin full release launches for Windows PC via Steam on August 28

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve learned SmileBoom is ready to launch their RPG development software for Windows PC, RPG Developer Bakin, out of Early Access and into its full official release on August 28! Can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Starting from October 2022, this software has been accessible through Early Access with progressively added features. Now that it’s prepared for a full release, SmileBoom plans to incrementally increase the software’s price globally. At present, there’s a sale offering the software at ¥6,282 or $62.99 until June 26. However, take note that from July 14 onwards, there will be a substantial price rise to ¥9,200 or $84.99.

Though SmileBoom is moving towards an official launch for RPG Developer Bakin, I’m thrilled that we won’t be slowing down on introducing new features. In fact, they’ve unveiled a roadmap detailing exciting additions to the software, continuing well into 2026 even after its full release.

From its Early Access debut in October 2022, “RPG Developer Bakin” has thrived with the assistance and suggestions from our devoted user base. We are thrilled to share that on August 28, 2025, we will hit a significant milestone – the official release!

Over this period, we’ve rolled out 14 major updates, each introducing new functionalities—many inspired by your valuable input. Some of these features include Dungeon RPG elements, advanced character stats, toon shader support, and compatibility with VRM models, among others. This dedication has transformed the tool into a more robust and adaptable creation platform.

== Ongoing Updates After Release! New Roadmap Revealed ==

On June 25th, we’re set to launch Update Ver.1.15. This update brings a host of new additions and refinements:

– A basic 3D sound setting that uses positional data solely for left-to-right speaker panning
– Upgrades to the selection panel
– The ability to use variables in layout display condition switches

Simultaneously, we’ve unveiled a revised development roadmap detailing both features slated for the official release and those earmarked for post-release. Beyond these features, we’re also investigating several others, and the roadmap will be regularly updated as we make further advancements in development.
