‘Royal Pains’ Reboot Starring Mark Feuerstein in the Works at NBC

Once more, Dr. Hank Lawson is preparing himself, given that a “Royal Pains” remake featuring Mark Feuerstein is currently being worked on by NBC, as per the latest confirmation from EbMaster.

The initial show, airing on USA Network between 2009 and 2016, centered around a previous New York ER doctor who shifted to the Hamptons to establish an exclusive medical practice catering to the wealthy. In the revival, set some time later, Hank is seeking a new meaning in life and is on the verge of starting his most ambitious project yet.

Andrew Lenchewski, who co-created “Royal Pains”, along with Michael Rauch (the show’s executive producer), will pen the upcoming series. They will take on roles as Executive Producers, joining forces with Feuerstein and a returning cast member from the original series, Rich Frank. This reboot originates from UCP, a branch of Universal Studio Group, and may air on NBC if it is selected for production.

The TV show “Royal Pains” featured actors like Paulo Costanzo, Reshma Shetty, Jill Flint, Campbell Scott, and Brooke D’Orsay, along with several others. At this point, it remains undecided if any of the initial cast members will be part of the upcoming series.

The announcement of a revival for “Royal Pains” comes after the continuation of the popular USA Network legal drama, “Suits LA,” by its original creator Aaron Korsh on NBC. Similar to Peacock’s approach with the USA series “Psych,” they have produced two consecutive movies for streaming: “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home” and “Psych 3: This Is Gus.” Furthermore, a film titled “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie” was released on Peacock in 2023, which is a continuation of the USA series “Monk.

The show ‘Royal Pains’ ran for eight seasons between 2009 and 2016. Following its conclusion, Mark Feuerstein took part in creating and acting in the CBS sitcom titled ‘9JKL’, which draws somewhat from his personal life, particularly his marriage.
