Last week, we got our hands on the upcoming DLC for Lies of P, titled Lies of P: Overture. We’re optimistic that the DLC will be worth the wait! What’s more, during the event, we discovered that the DLC would arrive together with an update to the game, introducing several new features. Of course, those who bought the DLC will get access to its content, but here’s something exciting: the game itself will offer a selection of difficulty levels – unfortunately, Round8 is keeping quiet about how these differ from the original, now named “Legendary Stalker” mode.
As a passionate fan, I had the privilege of attending a Q&A session with Choi Ji-won, the game’s director, where the team announced the introduction of fresh difficulty modes. These additions are a direct result of both in-house feedback and the requests from fans like me. In an official press release post-preview event, we were introduced to two new difficulties: “Butterfly’s Guidance” and “Awakened Puppet”. These modes are designed for those seeking a more immersive story experience with different levels of combat intensity. While these modes aim to make gameplay smoother, the team is adamant about keeping specific details under wraps – they don’t want us, the players, to feel self-conscious or judgmental when using these new settings.
With the same update, players can look forward to two new features: Battle Memories and Death March. These additions, coming simultaneously with Overture’s release, enable players to re-engage in battles they’ve previously defeated. Battle Memories lets you tackle each boss fight individually, while Death March presents a series of three or more boss fights in succession, under restrictive resource conditions. Both modes offer increased difficulty levels for the bosses, ranging from 1 to 5, with higher settings offering a greater challenge than when battling these foes during the main storyline.
Although we haven’t announced a specific release date for Lies of P: Overture as of now, expect to purchase it for $29.99 this summer on platforms like PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC/Mac via Steam.
