Fans are joking that the new Hutt character, Rotta (voiced by Jeremy Allen White), looks incredibly muscular – almost like a ripped version of Jabba the Hutt! The first image from the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie shows Rotta with impressive pecs and a physique that seems to defy typical Hutt biology. Some have even compared his appearance to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but with added armor and a decidedly less casual wardrobe.
Rotta the Hutt‘s visible abdominal muscles are surprising, given what we know about Hutt bodies. They seem like a mix of frogs and slugs, neither of which typically have well-defined muscles. For creatures that move like Hutts – essentially sliding along – strong back muscles would be more logical for supporting their upper bodies. So, while Rotta might have ‘six-pack’ abs, they’d likely be located on his back instead of his stomach.
Rotta is different from most Hutts in another way: he primarily speaks Basic, which is essentially English in the Star Wars universe, rather than the traditional Hutt language, Huttese. As Watto famously said, “Tinka me chasa hopoe ma booty na nolia.”
