Rosie O’Donnell and Ana Navarro Slam Ann Coulter for Mocking Tom Walz’s Son: ‘A Heartless Women’ Who ‘Needs to Leave Gus Walz the F— Alone’

As someone who has walked the path of life with a heart full of empathy and understanding, I cannot help but admire Ana Navarro, Rosie O’Donnell, Star Jones, and countless others like them. They have mastered the art of standing up for what is right, even in the face of adversity.

Previous and current moderators of ABC’s “The View” expressed agreement on social media platforms after the third night of the Democratic National Convention, as they collectively denounced Ann Coulter’s criticism of Gus Walz, the 17-year-old son of vice presidential nominee Tim Walz. Gus, who has a non-verbal learning disorder, garnered widespread attention for his emotional responses to his father’s speech during the DNC. In a now-deleted post on social media platform X, Coulter criticized Gus by commenting: “That’s quite unusual.”

Ana Navarro expressed her disdain on Instagram, writing, “Jesus, what thoughtless individuals,” in response to Coulter’s deleted comment. “Naturally, Republicans and Trump supporters on social media are criticizing Gus Walz. It takes a particularly cruel and insensitive person to target a 17-year-old special needs child who is not politically involved, just for expressing affection towards his father.”

Navarro clarified that Gus Walz is neurodivergent, which means he has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and a nonverbal learning disorder. This can make it challenging for children and young adults like Gus to manage their emotions in social situations. I want to make it clear that I am not criticizing or targeting Barron Trump. In my opinion, Barron is off-limits. We should respect Gus Walz’s circumstances and give him the space he needs.

Rosie O’Donnell responded to Coulter’s comment by saying, “She truly embodies cold-heartedness – she’s the epitome of it.”

Star Jones commented, “Cruel adults who torment children deserve a specific punishment. God dislikes unkindness intensely, especially when it’s directed towards those who are already weak. And he certainly doesn’t appreciate wicked women who misuse their significant influence to mistreat the defenseless. #StriveForBetter.”

Earlier this month, Tim Walz and his spouse, Gwen, had a conversation with People magazine, referring to their son Gus’s learning disorder as his “hidden strength.”

“Much like many other American families, we spent some time determining the best ways to support Gus’ success as he grew up,” the couple explained in a statement. “It took us a while, but what truly stood out was that Gus’ condition is not a disadvantage; instead, it’s his unique strength.”

In his DNC speech, Tim Walz expressed affection for his family by stating: “You, Hope, Gus, and Gwen, mean everything to me and I adore you all.”
