I’m so excited! The first trailer for the Rogue Trooper movie is finally here! It looks amazing – a proper animated military sci-fi adaptation of the classic comic. We don’t have a release date yet, but I’m already counting down the days!
Rogue Trooper follows the story of 19, a highly advanced soldier who is the only one left alive after an invasion. Determined to find the person who betrayed his unit, he’s joined by the digital ghosts of his fallen comrades – their personalities are now embedded in his equipment: his gun, helmet, and backpack.

What happens in the Rogue Trooper trailer?
The trailer is short and doesn’t reveal much about the plot, showing only a brief scene of the character, 19, escaping an explosion and jumping from a platform. It ends by teasing that more information will be released in the near future.
Rogue Trooper is inspired by the comic book of the same name, which first appeared in the British science-fiction comic magazine 2000 AD. Created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons, 2000 AD is also famous for being the home of the popular Judge Dredd series.
Okay, so here’s the buzz: Duncan Jones is tackling the Rogue Trooper comic as a movie, and he’s assembled a seriously impressive cast. We’re talking Hayley Atwell, Aneurin Barnard, the always fantastic Sean Bean, and a whole host of brilliant names like Matt Berry, Asa Butterfield, Jemaine Clement, Jack Lowden, Alice Lowe, Daryl McCormack, Diane Morgan, and even Reece Shearsmith. It’s a huge ensemble, and honestly, I’m already intrigued to see what Jones does with this one.
