ROG Xbox Ally handheld price leaked

The ROG Xbox Ally, Microsoft’s response to the growing array of portable gaming consoles, has been confirmed for release following its unveiling at the Xbox Showcase in June. While details about its specifications have already been revealed, recent leaks from ASUS might provide us with information regarding its potential price.

After discovering the details of the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, what enthusiasts were eager to find out next was its cost. Since you’d want to determine if you should save up for it or budget for the purchase, knowing the price is crucial.

So far, there’s been only speculation about its price. Some people have based their guesses on the potential price of the Switch 2, while others have used the current cost of an ROG Ally handheld as a reference point. However, a leak from 3djuegos might give us our first clue regarding the actual cost.

Xbox handheld’s leaked prices are higher than Steam Deck & Switch 2

3djuegos and a sneak peek at the ASUS site indicate that the ROG Xbox Alloy might retail for approximately €599, equivalent to around $700 or £520. The more advanced model, the ROG Xbox Alloy X, is expected to be available for €899, which equates to roughly $1,050 or £780.

Surely, I’ve only found this information by glancing at the ASUS website, which means it could alter significantly before the final pricing is unveiled. Keep in mind that these details may not be set in stone.

Although the exact cost hasn’t been disclosed yet, we can confirm some key features for the handheld devices:

For the more affordable model, it will include a minimum of a 512GB M.2 SSD, while the premium version will boast a 1TB M.2 SSD. Both versions will feature a 7” Full High-Definition (FHD) screen with a resolution of 1080p, and the ROG Xbox Ally will be equipped with an 80Wh battery, whereas the X model will have a 60Wh battery.

To clarify, the priciest Steam Deck model, boasting an OLED display, 1TB storage capacity, and a 45Wh battery, retails at $649 (equivalent to £569). On the other hand, the recently launched Nintendo Switch 2 offers a 1080p screen that supports up to 4k resolution and costs $449.99 (approximately £395).

It’s still unclear what the exact cost of this handheld device will be, but if it does get disclosed, it’s expected to fall on the pricier side of the handheld market, given its high-end specifications.
