Robert Pattinson ‘F—ing Hopes’ to Film ‘Batman 2’ Soon Because ‘I Started Out as Young Batman and I’m Going to Be F—ing Old Batman by the Sequel’

In a chat with Hero Magazine, Robert Pattinson discussed his role as Naomi Ackie’s co-star in “Mickey 17,” but they also talked about his portrayal of Batman briefly. He first appeared as The Batman in the 2022 blockbuster film “The Batman,” directed by Matt Reeves, which was a hit with critics and raked in $772 million globally at the box office. However, the follow-up movie is still under development and won’t be shown in cinemas until 2027.

Pattinson replied with a hint of humor when asked about reprising his role as Batman: ‘I certainly hope so.’ He began as a young Batman and by the sequel, he’d be an older one. Being 38, he jokingly added, ‘I guess I can call myself old now.’

After that, the actor explained, “Although I’m advanced in years, I’m in better health. In fact, I believe I may have reduced my biological age slightly.

At the “Mickey 17” premiere in London, Robert Pattinson recently chatted with EbMaster and revealed his anticipation for filming “The Batman 2” by the end of 2025. He shared that he’s aware of the plot but can’t spill the beans, stating, “It’s really cool. It’s quite exciting.” In simpler terms, Pattinson expressed his excitement about possibly starting work on “The Batman 2” by the end of next year without disclosing any details about the movie’s storyline.

At a recent press gathering, DC Studios’ co-leader Peter Safran expressed that director Matt Reeves hasn’t submitted the complete script for “The Batman” follow-up yet, but what they’ve read so far is highly promising. Previously, Safran’s fellow co-head, James Gunn, justified the postponement of “The Batman 2” when Warner Bros. shifted its release date from October 2, 2026, to October 1, 2027.

In a fair assessment, it’s not unusual for sequels to have a gap of five years or more. For instance, there were seven years between ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens’, fourteen years between ‘The Incredibles’, seven years between the first two ‘Terminators’, thirteen years between ‘Avatars’, thirty-six years between ‘Top Guns’, and six years between ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’ and ‘Vol 3’.

Matt Reeves is dedicated to crafting the finest movie he can, and it’s hard to predict how long a script will be written, Gunn stated in a different post. After the script is completed, approximately two years are typically spent on pre-production, filming, and post-production for major films.

Gunn, consistently emphasizes that no film will begin production under the DC Studios label unless it has a finalized screenplay. He clarified his reasoning to the media by stating: “Creating a good movie from a solid script is already challenging enough. Making a film with a rapidly evolving script is almost impossible.
