Based on data from Kobis, the tracking service run by the Korean Film Council, it’s been reported that the top ten movies collectively grossed approximately $5.8 million during the weekend of March 7th through the 9th. This figure represents a substantial decrease compared to last weekend’s earnings of $9 million.

In the fifth position during the weekend, “Captain America: Brave New World” took in $215,635 from a total of 32,333 ticket sales, accounting for approximately 3.68% of the overall market share. Since its premiere in mid-February, this Marvel hit has amassed a total gross of $11.1 million with a grand total of 1.63 million admissions.

In the seventh week, the documentary titled “Cheer Up, Korea!” earned an additional $79,617 from 12,380 viewers, increasing its total to $372,875 from 58,462 viewings. Meanwhile, the eighth spot went to the South Korean remake of the 2011 Taiwanese hit, “You Are the Apple of My Eye,” which grossed $67,072 and welcomed 9,962 viewers. The film’s overall earnings now total $976,394 from a grand audience of 158,884 viewers.
Over the weekend, the delightful adventure “Paddington in Peru” earned me a tidy sum of $60,085, which accounted for roughly 1.02% of the total box office takings. As of now, this charming movie has amassed a grand total of $709,859 and welcomed 119,057 fellow cinemagoers like myself.
In 10th place, “Anora” returned to the rankings following its numerous Oscar victories, earning an additional $59,563. This boosted its overall earnings to a grand total of $452,810 from 66,431 admissions.
