As a movie lover with a deep appreciation for both classic and modern storytelling, I am thrilled to hear about the new production company, Imagination Connoisseur Media Unlimited (ICU), founded by Robert Meyer Burnett and Mike Bawden. With their debut project being a six-and-a-half-hour audio drama called “True Noir: The Assassination of Anton Cermak,” I am intrigued and excited by the potential this offers to the genre markets.

As a passionate cinema enthusiast, I’d be thrilled to share that my favorite production company is embarking on an exciting new venture: “True Noir: The Assassination of Anton Cermak.” This is their inaugural project, and it’s an immersive six-and-a-half-hour audio drama. For those who, like me, love a good mystery, this ten-episode series is based on Max Allan Collins’ novel “True Detective.”
As a movie buff, I’d describe “True Noir” as follows: I, myself, am the one who brings this unique audio drama to life as its director and producer. It’s an intriguing blend of classic storytelling and cutting-edge production techniques that creates a truly cinematic experience for the ears. The impressive cast boasts over 25 talented voice actors, including familiar faces like Jeffrey Combs from “The Frighteners,” PJ Byrne from “The Wolf of Wall Street,” Jesse Spencer from “House,” Anthony LaPaglia from “Without a Trace,” and Katee Sackhoff from “Battlestar Galactica.”
Alexander Bornstein created an exclusive set of tunes for the show, while Michael McDonald managed the production of the sound effects.

I’ve had quite an eclectic career path so far! From producing movies like “Agent Cody Banks” and “The Hills Run Red,” to creating media content with Burnett & Bastian through Let’s Get Physical Media, my resume is quite diverse. But before diving into the entertainment industry, I gained valuable experience working at Republic Pictures and Pepsico Foods International. These early roles taught me important skills that have served me well in my current line of work. And let’s not forget my behind-the-scenes documentaries on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” – what a thrill it was to be part of such an iconic franchise! Now, as the founder of Imagination Connoisseur Media Unlimited, I’m excited to continue creating and innovating in the media world.
