As a dedicated follower of the streaming world, I must say that 2024 has been an intriguing year, to say the least! The rise of VTubers has undeniably shaken things up, and their dominance is truly impressive. However, it’s not all about the digital avatars anymore.
In recent times, VTubers have become the leading figures in the streaming realm, with many prominent women among them. However, an up-and-coming streamer on Twitch is making waves and challenging this dominance, managing to outperform Amouranth along the way.
2024 saw a major shift in the streaming world as VTubers became dominant figures. Digital avatar streamers like Miko, Pekora, and Ironmouse took control of Twitch and YouTube.
By Q3 of 2024, the popularity of VTubers was undeniable, with Aqua claiming the number one spot. As reported by StreamsCharts, her virtual concert in August attracted an astonishing 735,000 simultaneous viewers at its peak.
Meanwhile, the popular Japanese Virtual YouTuber, Miko, achieved an unprecedented milestone by attracting a record-breaking audience of 170,000 peak viewers during her unique, self-produced 3D concert.
Here are the top female streamers ranked by peak viewers in Q3 of this year:

In contrast to other broadcasters during Q3, Alondrissa, who is 22 and hails from Puerto Rico, had the highest peak viewership among non-VTubers, with over 150,000 viewers. Much like her fellow streams, hers was also themed around music, as rapper Young Miko joined her during the broadcast.
In July, streaming sensation Amourath shattered records by attracting an incredible 121,000 viewers, an achievement that typically occurs during musical streams. However, this time, it was a non-music event as she opened Disney trading cards, captivating thousands who joined her stream.
It’s fascinating to note that all the current frontrunners in the most viewed chart are Japanese VTubers streaming on YouTube. Notably, Alondrissa’s broadcast garnered more than twice the maximum views of popular non-VTuber figures like Canadian Valorant star Kyedae, Emiru, and Maddison Beer.
2024 is just around the corner, and I can’t help but wonder if any underdogs are going to pull off a miracle run to break into the top 10, or if virtual YouTubers will maintain their reign through 2025 and beyond. The anticipation is building!
It’s not going to be a walk in the park, but if past performance is any indication… On October 27th, Yuki Sakuna achieved a remarkable feat when her initial live stream attracted 383,139 viewers. This not only set a new record for the most viewers during a VTuber’s debut, but also made it the third most-watched VTuber stream of all time.
