Gary Gensler, the anti-crypto guy, stepped down. 🎉 His replacement, Mark Uyeda, seems to actually like digital assets. Imagine that! Meanwhile, Paul Atkins is waiting for Senate confirmation to take over. Fred Rispoli thinks Ripple is just biding its time for Atkins to reduce their $125 million fine. Smart move, Ripple. Smart move.
Oh, and the SEC transferred Jorge Tenreiro, one of their top crypto litigators, to the IT department. 🖥️ Because nothing says “we’re serious about crypto” like putting your best lawyer in charge of fixing the Wi-Fi.
“Yet, this SEC trial lawyer, who championed the victories of Coinbase and Binance, is now glaringly absent from both the Coinbase and Binance pleadings, ordered to pack his pencils and legal pads and transfer to the SEC’s IT department,” Stark stated.
Anthony Scaramucci thinks the lawsuit is already over. 🎬 But, surprise! No official settlement yet. Legal experts say this case is more complicated than the others. Because of course it is.
“The SEC broke up with Coinbase after a couple of dates. Ripple and the SEC live together and have a baby,” US lawyer Jeremy Hogan opined.
